Bristol (VT) - Jordan Godfrey's triple in the eighth inning, lifted the Crimson Tide to a 9-7 win at Mt. Abraham. Godfrey finished the day, collecting four hits, including two triples, and three RBI's. MAU's Cody Alexander collected two hits for the Eagles in the losing effort. Dylan Watts earned the win in relief for Spaulding. Josh Cyr took the loss for Mt. Abraham. Hinesburg (VT) - The Rebels held off the feisty Redhawks of Champlain Valley on the road, earning a 12-10 win in non-league play. Connor Bradley of South Burlington finished with a single, home run, and two RBI's. Kyle Stanley of CVU added three RBI's as he hit a home run as well. Matt Baechle received the win in relief. Dylan Ireland took the loss for CVU. Newport (VT) - The North Country Falcons entered the bottom of the seventh inning down by six runs. In the end, their four runs could not match the six runs scored by the Seahorses in the top of the seventh, as they fell at home 11-9. Noah Lipman led the Seahorses offensively, going two for four, with a single, double, and two RBI's. Ryan O'Donnell chipped in the effort for the Falcons, going two for three, with a single, double, and a pair of RBI's. The winning pitcher was Holden Ackerman. The losing pitcher was Shane Goodell. Middlebury (VT) - South Burlington scored four runs in the first, and five runs in the fourth to seal their first win of the season. A single, double, triple, and four RBI's was the stat line for SB's Paul Valgoi. SB's Hanson, and Thibeault added a double each as well. The winning pitcher was Connor Bradley, who only allowed two hits. The losing pitcher was Middlebury's Aaron Smith. Hinesburg (VT) - Singles by Davis Mikell and Kyle Stanley, as well as a double by Dylan Ireland, provided CVU with a three-run sixth inning, breaking a 2-2 tie. The winning pitcher was Davis Mikell who pitched six innings of two hit ball, ending with twelve strikeouts. Sawyer Kamman took the loss for Mt. Abe, allowing three earned runs over six innings. Jericho, VT - The 2013 MMU Cougars opened up their season beating the Yellow Jackets of Milton 9-2 on Wednesday. MMU's Ben St. Clair and Ari Cooper provided the offensive power by batting five runs combined. Cole Reilly of Milton chipped in an RBI single for the Yellow Jackets. Greg Gosselin (MMU) received the win, pitching six innings, on four hits. Patrick Mullins (MHS) took the loss.
