Champlain Valley 6, North Country 5 (9): North Country rallied in the seventh and eight innings from two runs down in the seventh inning and erased a one-run deficit in the eighth, but visiting Champlain Valley escaped with the extra-innings victory.
Milton 10, Spaulding 9 (9): Logan Bean's ninth-inning single plated Tyler Skinner for the winning run as host Milton held off Spaulding.
Rayne Supple, a junior at Champlain Valley Union High School, was named Vermont's Gatorade baseball player of the year Tuesday.
Supple is the first baseball player to be chosen from CVU for the award, which is based on athletic excellence, high academic achievement and exemplary character. Mount Abraham 3, Spaulding 2: Sawyer Kamman went the distance, fanning eight batters and scattering four hits, to help Mount Abraham clip visiting Spaudling.
Colchester 5, Middlebury 3: Cassidy Moore picked up four hits and Colchester used a three-run first inning to hold off visiting Middlebury.
BFA-St. Albans 9, Milton 0: Charles Richardson hurled a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts as BFA-St. Albans improved to 12-2 at visiting Milton's expense.
Champlain Valley 12, Essex 6: Erik Bergkvist, Rayne Supple and Hayden Smith each drove in two runs and Champlain Valley turned a 3-1 deficit to an 12-6 win over Essex with an 11-run fifth inning.
