‘GameChanger’ living up to its name
A software program called GameChanger might be slowly revolutionizing how Vermont baseball teams keep their game scorebooks and compile season statistics, among other key information. GameChanger is a mobile app and website founded in 2010, a tool that has replaced the old-fashioned scorebook at Champlain Valley. “It just makes life a lot easier and less stressful. It puts everything together and it’s easy for everybody to use,” CVU coach Tim Albertson said. CVU started using GameChanger last season. Sam Fontaine, who also maintains the Metro league’s website, uses an iPad or his iPhone to track CVU’s games from the dugout. Coach Mike Brown and BFA-Fairfax has also been using the software the last couple of seasons. Albertson hopes GameChanger catches on around the state. “It hasn’t blossomed in Vermont yet. As a league, we might want see if people want to get into it,” the coach said.
